The Cambridge Supermarket has
fourteen employees. Owners of the home-owned and operated Cambridge
Supermarket are Francis and Joyce Kohout. They purchased the business
on June 4, 1984, and have been members of the Cambridge Chamber
of Commerce since that time. The Cambridge Supermarket is an Affiliated
Foods Midwest store served from the warehouse in Norfolk,
NE. Affiliated Food Midwest stores are now served from warehouses
located in Elwood, KS; and Norfolk, NE. Affiliated Foods Midwest
now has the purchasing power of over 850 grocery independents
located in twelve states. The Affiliated grocery group "Buys
Together To Sell For Less."
Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola, Little Debbies, Earthgrains
Bread Co., Tombstone Pizza, Frito
Lay, Cards 'n Such, All Snax, Village Maker Pies and St. Maries
Gopher News Co., also make deliveries to the Cambridge Supermarket.
In the past several years, some expanding has been done. The purchase
of the former Doug's Place and the Cambridge Clarion enabled remodeling
to be done. This addition created more selling area, storage space
and a sit down eating area for Chester
Fried Chicken, Bun 'N Run Sandwiches,
Soup of the Day and fresh made salads. The Cambridge Supermarket
Deli also makes deli trays for special occasions.
State of Nebraska Game and Parks Commission Hunting and Fishing licenses, and State Park permits are available for 2006.
The Cambridge Supermarket carries a variety of Shurfine/Shurfresh and National brands as well as a full line of meats, produce and
frozen food. Our store has up to date scanning registers and a
computer for pricing and office records. We accept, Master Card,
Visa, Discover, and EBT. We also are a WIC vendor. We have
a modern pallet unloading dock to speed up unloading trucks.
Special orders and case lot orders are welcome at a discount for
savings to you. Deliveries to homes and businesses in the town of Cambridge are made on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Cambridge Supermarket store hours are from 8:00 am to 7:00
pm Monday through Saturday. We are closed Sunday, so our employees
may have a day with their families.
